Happy Thanksgiving
The food was good, and the fellowship. Speaking of the weather, it's another fantastic day in Houston (that's all we've had for about three weeks)....
I am thankful for a phrase the Houston Post--now Chronicle--media critic Ken Hoffman once described as the "best endorsement I ever heard":
GOD LISTENS.
That is, the slogan of KSBJ states that for which I am most thankful. Being unemployed, I have prayed about all sorts of things lately. And sometimes it's a YES, sometimes a NO, often I hear no answer at all. But--
GOD LISTENS.
What a thought. Does the answer even matter? Maybe it's enough just to know He really is listening. He hears the cry of every heart--even those too stable, too dull, or just too male to muster up any actual cries. (Much as I might like to.)
God Listens.
And He is faithful. A verse that got me through law school has also had renewed importance for me lately:
Amen. He is faithful and He listens.
Thanks.

How did I miss this post? I love it. He does listen. How easy it
is to forget that.
