We Will Never Forget.


I had lunch last week with the two biggest movie fans I know, one of whom holds a masters degree in screenwriting from USC. I turned to him:

"So what movies do you like right now?"
"Nothing. All the movies are
horrible. Every studio soliciting manuscripts right now wants 'teen kills
teen--or sleeps with teen, then kills teen--while other teens look on
desperately,' it's ridiculous."
Our buddy (S007) interjected. "Oh, I want to
see that Flight 93 movie."
David agreed. "Oh, yeah. I do want to see that."

Dennis Prager liked it.

  • I listened to Lisa Beamer's "Let's Roll" on audio tape. It was great--her husband was the one who seemed to organize the passengers that fought back and took down the plane, saving the Capitol or the White House.

    I'll see it for him.

  • Fascinating. Now who is "anonymous"? The unmilked cow? The maverick? The jumbo shrimp?

    No one reads comics more faithfully than the maverick. My money's on him....

    (It's an ironic cartoon, given that this particular blog sees so little of my life experiences. But I get it....)

  • Yeah, R's tastes are anything but conventional.... And hey, you probably have to take your sleep when you can if you're as busy as most people. Anyone who is tired enough to fall asleep in the theater probably deserves to be left alone. (But no snoring!)

    I think it says more about the movies being made than about your taste. You would never fall asleep at the interactive theater--or even the AD players, you know?
